• Regenerate by tweaking requirements if the initial output misses the mark.

This iterative process keeps you in control, minimizing rework and ensuring every test case aligns with your vision. Once you’re satisfied, click “Generate Test Cases” to create fully detailed test cases with steps and expected results, ready to integrate into your TestRail repository.

TestRail 9.5 is built for the enterprise, delivering explainable, auditable, and secure AI that meets the strictest compliance requirements. Administrators can enable AI features in the AI Hub under the AI Settings tab, with granular controls to manage access at the user role or project level. Enterprise users benefit from Audit Logs, which track every AI-related action, creation, update, and deletion, ensuring full traceability and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Getting Started with TestRail 9.5

TestRail 9.5 is rolling out to all customers within the next week, with Early Access customers able to dive in today. To unlock AI-powered features, a TestRail Admin must enable them in the AI Hub and agree to the AI Terms of Use. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started:

1. Enable AI Features: Admins can activate “Generate test cases with AI” in the AI Hub. Configure permissions at the user role or project level to tailor access to your team’s needs.
2. Set Up Field Mappings: Map AI-generated content to TestRail fields like Steps, Expected Results, or BDD Scenarios. Default mappings include:
   • Steps (steps_separated): Step & Result (AI-Generated)
   • Steps (steps): Step (AI-Generated)
   • Expected Results (expected): Expected Results (AI-Generated)
   • Expected Result (AI-Generated): BDD Scenario (AI-Generated) Custom templates offer additional flexibility, with options to map to Description, Step, Expected Result, or BDD Scenario fields. Note: Case Descriptions require a custom text field or manual mapping.
3. Manage AI Credits: AI Credits power AI features and are allocated based on your plan and seat count (e.g., 100–1000 credits for Enterprise plans). Check your balance in the AI Hub, and note that credits renew monthly but don’t carry over. Learn more about AI Credits.
4. Generate Test Cases: Select a section and template, input detailed requirements, and click “Continue.” Review and edit AI-generated titles and descriptions, then generate full test cases with steps and results.
5. Review and Integrate: AI-generated test cases integrate seamlessly into your TestRail repository. Edit, duplicate, delete, or include them in test runs, following your team’s existing workflows.

If the initial suggestions aren’t quite right, use the “Edit Requirements” option to refine your input and regenerate.
